Christian Center School (CCS), located in Hayden/Coeur d'Alene, North Idaho, is a private PreK-12 Christian school founded in 1977 (with operations starting around 1979) as an outreach of Abbott Loop Christian Center from Anchorage, Alaska.
A Story of Faith, Family, and Legacy A small group of families launched CCS with a bold vision: to integrate education and biblical discipleship in a close-knit community. Beginning in humble settings near North Idaho College, the school emphasized that raising children in truth involves more than academics—it requires shared family involvement, sacrifice, and faith-centered growth.
As the campus developed on Prairie Avenue, strong leaders emerged to guide it:
Jerry Rice set high standards and discipline early on.
Frank Hess fostered a culture of excellence, personal investment, and intentional small size so every student was known and nurtured.
Later stewards like Alma and Julie Yetter preserved the mission while adding structure, academic rigor, and sustainability.
Teachers and families often sacrificed financially and personally—professionals became educators, families chose single incomes—to keep tuition accessible and prioritize kingdom impact over comfort.
Though classes remained small, the legacy shines through alumni who serve as worship leaders, educators, business owners, parents, and global servants, equipped to love God, think critically, and live with conviction.
Today, CCS continues its mission: providing excellent college-prep academics in a family-like environment to biblically equip and empower students to serve their community and world for God's glory.
This isn't just a school's history—it's a living legacy of faith, sacrifice, and transformed lives, still being written one student at a time.
